About MtNeboFred

We are an East Texas church embracing the new while still clinging to the old, in order to be all things to all people so that by all means some might be saved by the blood of Jesus!

The Winds of Change

Over the past two years, our church has seen a great deal of change: new pastor, new website, and more recently new toilets! Change is a fact of life and it is not a bad thing in and of itself. It is inevitable, so it is best to learn to roll with the punches.

Another major change is approaching in the coming weeks as Sunday May 11 (Mothers’ Day) will be my final dapulpity as the pastor of Mt Nebo. Starting Wednesday May 14 I will serve as the Youth Director for my hometown church, the church I was saved in, First Baptist Church of Colmesneil. This was not a decision I came to lightly and I am confident this is exactly where God wants me to be or I would not be making such a move. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Mt Nebo and am disappointed I will not be able to help finish what we have started. You will always hold a special place in my heart.

The next logical step is the search for a replacement, a process I intend to help with as much as I am able to (Bro. Russell Duplantis is already scheduled to preach May 18th and 25th). The first step in this process will begin at our Wednesday April 30 Business Meeting so please make plans to attend.

The most important thing at this point is prayer, prayer, prayer. A church should never search for their best candidate but rather God’s best candidate. I will be continually praying for you and I know I am leaving you in good and capable hands – the hands of Jesus.

God Bless

Bro. Raymond
