Raymond’s Rundown – Jan 1

HAPPY NEW YEAR! We have a lot of good things to reflect fondly on in 2013: multiple families joining our fellowship, four baptisms, tremendous spiritual growth, and a lot of fun in between. Speaking of which, what a great time we had at our Christmas Party and Program. Thank you to everyone who put in the effort to make them both a success.

This year we need to make a stronger effort toward bringing the community into our doors. There are many residents of Fred and the surrounding area who need a church home – not only the lost but the backslidden as well. Some of them are unchurched, while others have a poor taste in their mouth from previous church experience. It is up to us to show them we are a family worth being a part of which means showing them the love of Christ not only by our words but our deeds as well.

Congratulations to those of you who persevered in reading through the entire Bible Reading Plan! For those of you who would like another crack at it, updated copies for 2014 are available, along with the entire sermon/study audio. If nothing else I encourage you to read through the entire plan at your own pace with the audio supplements so you can see the Bible in a whole new light.

This year rather than have a year-long plan we will begin going through individual books of the Bible. This will be a much slower paced plan and I hope you will all make your best effort to do the reading which is an enriching experience. First on the docket is Ecclesiastes.

My prayer for 2014 is that it will start as strongly as 2013 yet stay strong for the entire twelve months and beyond. You can make a difference – commit to giving your best effort for the Lord this year.

Bro. Raymond
